[Mary Anning statue unveiled in Lyme Regis – 21st May 2022]

The long-awaited statue celebrating Mary Anning, pioneering Dorset fossil hunter, has been unveiled in Lyme Regis.  The project was started by ten year old Evie Swire, and the ‘Mary Anning Rocks’ campaign to see a statue designed and erected has been supported by a number of local volunteers, and donations from a number of high-profile individuals and societies (including the Palaeontographical Society).
